Google Acquires BumpTop

BumpTop is a sweet 3D desktop that with multitouch that has been implemented into the Windows 7 and OSX operating systems…and now Google owns it. On the BumpTop homepage:

Today, we have a big announcement to make: we’re going to be taking BumpTop in an exciting new direction, which means that BumpTop (for both Windows and Mac) will no longer be available for sale. Additionally, no updates to the products are planned.

No word from the Google camp on what they plan on doing with this slick new addition, but time will tell.  Check out this sweet demo:
