79% said they had pirated a PC game

66% said they were the proud owner of at lease one dead Xbox 360

44% said their Wii was gathering dust

At this weeks GDC 2010 in San Francisco, Sony has announced details and the upcoming release of their new “Playstation Move” motion contollers. Sony promises that the Move will deliver “a motion-based, high-definition gaming experience unlike anything on the market.”

The Playstation Move is said to be more accurate that Nintendo’s WiiMote thanks to advanced motion sensors. These controllers will also include the typical shock and rumble features that have become standard in most controllers today. Sony has announched multple packages.

standalone Move controller

Move controller with PS Eye & game (less than $100)

entire console solution

Sony also states that at LEAST 20 titles will be released in 2010, including “Sports Champions”, that will cater specifically to these new motion controllers. At the time of the conference, there is no information on pricing or an exact release date (other than Fall 2010).
